(<a href=\"\/episode_posts\/episode-3-recovery-and-discovery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Part 2, Episode 3<\/a>).\u00a0 The fact that it was on my grandmother\u2019s 1901 Bechstein, and not on my Bechstein grand piano in France which I had acquired in time for my 50th birthday in 2001 is significant.\u00a0 I feel and believe with hindsight, extremely significant.<\/p><p>I wanted to understand what had transpired (and still does) when I place my fingers on the piano keys and enter a \u2018zone\u2019 which is not my intellect or mental mind.\u00a0 I am not in my mind thinking about where my fingers will go, but they seem to \u2018know\u2019 and move independently of my thought or volition.\u00a0 I am conscious that I am an instrument in these moments.\u00a0 Occasionally if a thought arises, the subsequent notes might sound like a mistake\u2026and I am aware that the connection from my heart has been broken at that point and somehow my ego has stepped forward.<\/p><p>Now that some of these musical downloads have been recorded on my grandmother\u2019s piano and I can listen to them, I hear these themes as my signature.\u00a0 I can repeat their essential quality.\u00a0 I do not refer to them as my \u2018compositions\u2019, which would imply some rational structure or intention.\u00a0 If I was shown the partition of what this music looks like, I would not be able to recognise the score and say it was my music.\u00a0 In fact I would probably not be able to read and play it!\u00a0 But they are perhaps \u2018sound poems\u2019?\u00a0 And I am an intuitive musician. John Turest-Swartz and produced as the CD Into the Light (<a href=\"\/episode_posts\/episode-15-co-creation-into-the-light\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Part 3, Episode 15<\/a>) however, was completely spontaneous.\u00a0 Most of these recordings included below I can not replicate.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d4c8d7b elementor-widget elementor-widget-audio\" data-id=\"d4c8d7b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"audio.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div pianos.\u00a0 Only with acoustic pianos, when there is an energetic charge in the space between my finger and the key <em>before<\/em> the note is sounded.\u00a0 And then, with the sounding of the first note and the unfurling of harmonics, both heard and unheard, which this fundamental tone gives rise to\u2026 the environment or \u2018field\u2019 is created and the music flows for as long as it
