Return to Bosnia

It was rather surreal returning to Bosnia twenty years after we had found our apartment overlooking Lac Leman and I had left Sarajevo to set up my healing home after my profound dream, while Ronald had moved on to the next war in Kosovo.  What was even more surreal was that, on arrival at Sarajevo and waiting for some group members in the bus which would take us to Visoko, the first woman who climbed in was Ilse from South Africa.

It was exactly ten years before that I had met her at a tantric workshop I attended, the week before Ronald died.  And here she was, sharing this experience with me in Bosnia.  It was quite shattering as I went back in time to that weekend recalling my emotions as I contemplated coming out of my celibacy.

During these twenty years the huge mountain at Visoko, shaped like a pyramid, which we had driven past and around so often had been identified in 2005 as exactly that.  A pyramid, the largest in a complex of five.  Though still largely unexcavated, the imposing Sunca Pyramid of the Sun 220 at metres high, was beginning to receive visitors and volunteers from around the world.

I had first heard Dr Semir Osmanagic presenting his discovery and scientific research findings at an EarthKeepers conference in Amsterdam in 2007.  He outlined at great length the struggle he was having with officialdom, academic skeptics and particularly Egyptologists loathe to sanction a ‘pyramid’ almost 100 m higher than Cheops, the Great Pyramid at Giza Plateau.  Hence his significant effort for scientific collaboration with several reputed institutes in Europe.

One of the key problems arose from the evidence he was able to produce on the possible date of construction.  It seemed irrefutable that the complex of pyramids in Visoko – the Sun, Moon, Earth, Dragon, Love – were constructed 30,000 years ago.  This probability challenges far too many PhDs  Dr Sam has set up a private foundation which managed the hundreds of volunteers streaming to Bosnia to participate in the excavation of almost 10 kilometers of interconnected tunnels, known as the Ravne tunnels running under the complex.

Judy Satori had visited the Bosnian pyramids and produced a fascinating and compelling programme, which I listened to the year before while cat-sitting in Majorca.  As I recalled my time in Bosnia twenty years earlier and our drives in those mountains around Visoko, my curiosity peaked.

And when Judy announced she was returning to Bosnia during the month before our planned symposium on the Sound of Light, I naturally signed up  – for the week.  An opportunity presented to tie up another loose thread – 2019 was certainly offering many such opportunities.

The tour ‘Ancient Legacy Renewed’ drew a group of some 90 people from all over the world.

I’d been more than a little interested in the scientific measurements taken in the Ravne tunnels.  Dr Bovis (1871-1947), a French physician together with an engineer called Simoneton, developed the Bovis biometer, also called the Bovis Scale.  This is a tool that measures the life force energy of any substance; food, medicine, living being, object or geographical location.  The vibrational energy of 6,500 units on the Bovis scale is considered neutral.  Above 6,500 the life force energy is positive and life enhancing. There are places in parts of the tunnels which have been scientifically measured at 55,000 Bovis.

I wished to expose the cells of my body to this huge increase in life force energy if possible.  I was able to sit and meditate in the tunnels a couple of times in the areas of high concentration for an hour or so at a time.  There was a purity in the air and an extremely high concentration of negative ions.  Very comfortable.

On one occasion, standing with Judy and a small group, I felt the energy begin to enter my feet, spiraling up my legs, and I felt like a transformer.  I was swaying in clockwise motion and my hands were moving rhythmically of their own accord as the energy left through them.  This energy leaving my hands felt soft and gentle, lighter than the powerful energy entering me from the earth.  It felt as though it was transformed by passing through my body.

The entrance to the tunnels seems to have been closed off around 6000 BC according to carbon dating of the filling material, and  many mysteries are held in the network of tunnels and huge flat monoliths.  The message in one ancient rune stone inscription has been deciphered.  It reads.

“We are at a standstill….The gateway is closed…We will have to defend and conquer until the time comes to go back through the Stargate”

What a different Bosnia from the misery I had left twenty years ago.  And what a different person I was from the miserable woman who had left in tears.  This is not to say that all people are aware of the significance of the complex on their doorsteps.  But I got a sense that many young people in the Balkans are spiritually aware.

There was a tall beautiful girl from Zagreb in the group, Vesna, with whom I had an instant connection.  We spent  many hours together, and I understood she was partly there to face her demons and come to terms with her experiences of spending many of her childhood years in bomb shelters in Zagreb.  In our very different ways, we were both looking for closure, mine much easier of course.  On a day when we went for an outing driving through the countryside, Vesna and I sat on the bus together and spent almost 18 hours in a deep processing of our pasts.  I was struck by the beauty in this land –   beauty which had not been visible during the years following the horrors.  There were several times in the day’s journey where Vesna’s tears flowed and my shoulder came in useful despite the fact that she towered above me by almost a half a metre.

When we parted I gave her a copy of Into the Light which as an acupuncturist in Zagreb, she constantly  plays for her clients.  A month later, Vesna joined us in Leysin for the Sound of Light  symposium.

During the week I had the opportunity to talk through plans for the following month with Judy.  Her post-Bosnian schedule was going to be intense with a European Activation four-city itinerary to Dublin, London, Amsterdam and Copenhagen over a fortnight, before I would collect her in Geneva.

I was pleased I had encouraged her to take a week in my apartment in Thonon connecting with Lac Leman before joining us in Leysin.  She is also human.
